Hi, I’m Betsy. As a long-time graphic designer, I enjoy working with people to help create great designs that both meet their needs and make them happy.
I’m smart and a good listener. I have fun deconstructing complex ideas. I ask pertinent questions to understand the nuances required of a design and deliver concepts that are on target the first time. When I’m working on a project I’m thinking about opportunities for visual pop, about context, about how the target audience will interact with the design. Sometimes these solutions are playful and eye-catching. Sometimes these solutions are safer and more conservative. Whomever the client – big, small, innovative, practical – they are always pleased with the results.
I grew up in Richmond and raised my two sons in Stow, a small rural town west of Boston. In 2019 I moved back to Richmond to be closer to my extended family. Returning as both a native and an outsider has given me a unique perspective through which to revel in Richmond’s growth as a diverse and significant cultural center.
In recent years I have started creating mosaics using stained glass. I love everything about the process: the vibrant colors and textures in the glass itself, adding extra dimensionality with grout lines, the satisfying flow that comes from repeatedly holding, cutting and sizing each piece of glass. I have so many ideas in my mind I want to explore!
Enjoy perusing my portfolio. Give me a shout if you’d like to work together.
